Tribhuvan University (TU) has called for applications and expression of interests for the position of the Vice-Chancellor through a merit based approach.
Previously, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had declared an end to political appointments within the university, emphasizing the selection of the Vice-Chancellor based on merit.
In alignment with this directive, the recommendation committee has commenced the process, seeking qualified individuals with a master’s degree and a minimum of three years’ service in official university positions.
Applicants are further required to submit a vision paper and a four-year professional work plan outlining proposed reforms for the university, showcasing a commitment to advancing TU’s academic landscape. Prime Minister Dahal has stressed the strict implementation of the annual calendar to enhance academic quality and urged all universities to present immediate action plans for fostering a conducive academic environment.
