Tara Air has submitted a preliminary investigation report to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) regarding the detachment of the ’emergency door’ of 9N-ALO operating the Kathmandu-Lukla flight on December 10. The aircraft had two passengers and cargo on board.

The report stated that the glass panel of the emergency door detached after departing from Tribhuvan International Airport due to a failure in properly securing the luggage.

During takeoff from Runway 02, the glass panel fell onto vacant land near Gothatar, close to Krishna Temple. The investigation revealed a lapse in adequately loading the cargo. The pilot remained unaware of the detachment of the glass panel on the right side.

In response to the incident, Tara Air underwent a refresher class for cargo loaders as directed by CAAN. Additionally, the pilot, co-pilot, and air hostess were grounded for eight days, with their release effective as of December 18.
