Following the death of Jaishankar Shah, a 30-year-old resident of Barahathwa Municipality-6, the District Administration Office in Sarlahi has decided to maintain a prohibitory order. This decision comes after a curfew, imposed from 5:30 PM on Friday to 8:00 AM on Saturday, was lifted earlier today at 8 AM.
The incident unfolded during a demonstration organized to demand the upgradation of the local primary health center. The protest took a violent turn, leading to the vandalization of the house belonging to Kalpana Katuwal, the mayor of Barahathwa Municipality.
In an attempt to regain control, the police resorted to firing a shot, resulting in the death of Jaishankar Shah.
While the curfew has been lifted, the district authorities have extended the prohibitory order, effective from 8 AM today to 8 AM Sunday.
