Kathmandu, August 16

A young man was injured on Tuesday in a police firing amid the protest at Bancharedanda area of Kathmandu.

The injured was identified as local Kamal Tamang. He was injured due to a bullet fired by the police near his eye. According to Man Bahadur Tamang, the ward chairman of Dhunibeshi Municipality-1, the injured has been admitted to Manmohan Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.

After a local resident stopped a vehicle carrying garbage from Kathmandu, clashes occurred at the Bancharedanda area. The police fired rubber bullets to disperse the mob.

There was tension between police and local residents in the Bancharedanda area all day. Amidst the tension, more than one and a half hundred vehicles dumped garbage in Bancharedanda.
