The Nepal Telecom Authority (NT) has assured to make systemic improvements to prevent the recurrence of mobile and telephone service interruption.

The users of mobile and telephone service from the government-owned company have suffered interruption since Tuesday afternoon.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday evening, the service provider said that network congestion and ‘technical issues’ were to blame for the disruption in service of both phone calls and mobile data networks.

“Our customers had to face difficulties while using mobile services for some time and we apologise for the inconvenience. All services have resumed interruptedly now,” reads the statement.

The company has also requested all customers to contact 1498 and 1988 for any problem related to interruption in mobile, telephone and other services.

Since Tuesday evening, users of Nepal Telecom have been facing problems as their numbers are declared unreachable when others try to call them.
