Nepal has secured its position at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by nine runs on Thursday’s match at the TU cricket ground.

Chasing a huge target of 311 runs, in the final match of the triangular series of the World Cup League 2 today, Nepal scored 269 runs for six wickets in 44 overs, when the umpires stopped the game due to insufficient light following rainfall and Nepal won by the Duckworth-Lewis rule.

According to the D/L rule, the further score is calculated on the basis of the number of overs to be bowled and the number of wickets in hand.

Nepal won 10 of 11 matches and moved up to the fourth position in the table with 38 points, facing a tough competition with one point behind Namibia.
