Nepal Police has arrested Saroj Thapa, a 28-year-old resident of Kailali, on charges of defrauding a person seeking foreign employment.
Thapa, currently residing in Kirtipur Municipality-10, Kathmandu, allegedly convinced Mohan Saud to pay him NPR 730,000 with promises of employment in Russia.
Superintendent of Police Milan KC disclosed that Thapa assured Saud a prestigious position with a monthly salary of NPR 100,000 upon reaching Russia.
Saud filed a complaint against Thapa for repeated deception, stating that the promised employment never materialized despite the significant financial investment.
Following Thapa’s arrest, he has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation.
