The Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security has commenced discussions with experts and stakeholders on the preliminary draft of the labor migration policy.
The objective is to create a framework that ensures both domestic and foreign employment are conducted with dignity while being focused on protecting worker rights, the policy encompasses fair wages, transparent recruitment, and measures against exploitation.
The policy will integrate labor issues into the upcoming five-year plan, bringing much-needed systematic reforms to the sector.
The government, through the Ministry, aims to prioritize health and social security as key elements in the labor migration policy.
A dedicated task force, led by labor expert Dr. Ganesh Gurung, has been formed by the government to draft the labor migration policy.
