The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has added some points to its notice of week-long prohibitory orders issued earlier on Monday in order to curb the spread of second wave of COVID-19 infection.

Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli issued a new notice on Tuesday with additional amendments and points, including protocols for conducting death rites, people attending sick ones, travel of bank and financial institution employees, participating in marriage/bratbandha, among other things.

The new notice has included courier and post office services as essential services.

Similarly, grocery section of department stores can now provide services only until 10:00 am and between 5:00 to 7:00 pm instead of the earlier scheduled time i.e 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Vehicles with private number plates used by the employees of banks and financial institutions, insurance and cooperatives licensed by the National Bank conducting financial transactions will be allowed to operate on the basis of their identity cards from the concerned offices.

Likewise, the new notice says that travel passes are not required for vehicles used for wedding ceremonies. However, the bride and groom have to be in the vehicle being used and only 15 people can travel in the vehicle.

Party palace owners need to procure permission from the District Administration Office to run their services.

According to the new notice, people who need to compulsorily attend death rites and sick ones admitted in hospitals in another district should carry documents that tells about their situation (application, hospital papers or recommendation from local level) along with submitting an application requesting permission the district administration office.
