Journalists have initiated protests against Kantipur Media Group (KMG) due to grievances regarding expulsions, transfers, and delayed payments.

On Tuesday, they staged a sit-in demonstration in front of the Kantipur office, expressing solidarity with the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, the Labor Journalists Association, and the Photojournalist Club.

Journalists who have been with the organization for an extended period, are protesting against their expulsion from Kantipur Media Group, citing it as unlawful.

As stated on the press release yesterday, the Federation of Nepalese Journalists had repeatedly requested the Kantipur Media Group for the reinstatement of 82 journalists expelled by the management, the cancellation of unauthorized transfers, and the full implementation of the Working Journalist Act.

It is also stated that the sit-in will be continued until the legitimate demands raised by the journalists are met according to the Working Journalists Act.
