Heavy rains last night led to flooding in various rivers across the Kathmandu Valley, severely disrupting life in the capital city.
Dan Bahadur Karki, the spokesperson for Nepal Police, reported that 12 individuals from Kathmandu district and 24 from Lalitpur district were rescued from flood-induced disasters in the city.
In Kathmandu, the rescue operations included saving 11 people from the Balkhu and Kuleshwor areas and one person from Naya Buspark.
Several riverbank areas, such as Balkhu, Bafal, Dhobikhola corridor, and Sundarighat, were inundated and experienced significant waterlogging.
Additionally, a landslip at Nagpokhari in the Phutung area resulted in damage to a house.
In Lalitpur district, 24 individuals were rescued from various locations. This included two from UN Park, eight from Sundarighat, one from Balkumari, seven from Chagathali, and six from Mahalakshmi Ram Mandir area.
