The National Examination Board has published the results of Grade XII. Member Secretary Durga Prasad Aryal informed that the results were published after a board meeting was held today morning.
The results can be viewed through the websites of the National Examination Board and Nepal Telecom.
Grade XII board examinations, which are usually held in April/May, were conducted only in November in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The examination was conducted from November 24 to December 1.
The publication of the results was delayed after respective colleges had failed to send the results of the written examination to NEB in a proper format. The Board had conducted short written examination accounting 40 percent of the total marks for 2020.
Subject teachers were allowed to check the answer sheets in order to publish the results soon. Earlier, the answer sheets were tested at the provincial office and marks were entered only at the central office of the Board.
Keeping in mind the pandemic, a procedure was decided to evaluate Grade XII on the basis of a short examination of 40 percent of total marks, 40 percent from Grade XI score and 20 percent from internal assessment.
The board has stated that the number was entered in the central server after the state office entered the students’ scores. This time, the test was conducted in 4,100 examination centers across the country. Earlier, examinations were held only in 1,100 examination centers.
As many as 433,271 candidates sat for Grade XII examination. After the results are published, the Board will issue certificates including grade sheet to the students. Despite delays in Grade XII results, universities have already opened enrollment for undergraduate level.
