The bodies of five passengers, who went missing after two buses were swept away by a landslide into the Trishuli river on Friday, have been recovered. The incident involved two passenger buses, one traveling to Kathmandu from Birgunj and the other heading to Gaur from Kathmandu. The buses, carrying 38 and 24 passengers respectively, plunged into the river at Simaltal, Bharatpur Municipal Corporation-29.

Three of the recovered bodies have been identified. Bheshraj Rijal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, confirmed the identities as 22-year-old Bikas Pariyar of Chitwan Madi Municipality-1, 19-year-old Ramit Kushar Majhi of Sarlahi Barhathwa Municipality-3, and 28-year-old Rishi Pal Sah from Sitamani, Bihar, India.

The search for the missing buses and remaining passengers continues, with no sign of the wreckage so far. A significant number of security personnel have been mobilized to aid in the search operations at the incident site in Simaltal and along the Narayani river downstream, as stated by Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav.
