Police Constable Sohan Chaudhary lost his life while attempting to apprehend a runaway prisoner in Darchula.

The incident occurred during an operation to arrest Umesh Singh Kunwar of Mahakali Municipality-1, who had managed to escape from police custody despite being restrained with handcuffs.

Constable Chaudhary, fell and sustained a serious head injury during the operation. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a local hospital, as confirmed by the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office.

Kunwar, who had been arrested on charges of rape on March 4, somehow eluded custody during interrogation in the legal section. After his escape, he fled across the Mahakali River and reached India. However, the authorities managed to locate and apprehend him once again.
