Nepal Rastra Bank has initiated the circulation of new notes starting from Monday, resulting in a surge of customers at banks.

With the aim of facilitating celebrations for Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals, the bank has started a new note exchange service.

This year, banks have also introduced a QR code service to enhance efficiency.

Rastra Bank has clarified that notes can be exchanged outside the Kathmandu Valley at Rastra Bank offices in the provinces or at the branch offices of commercial banks.

This year, as in previous years, arrangements have been made to exchange notes in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 rupees, with a limit of 18,500 rupees per person, according to Rastra Bank.
