All 175 Nepali nationals evacuated from China’s Hubei province and kept in quarantine at Kharipati of Bhaktapur since Sunday morning have tested negative for coronavirus, the Ministry of Health and Population informed.
Organizing a press conference today, Health Secretary Khagaraj Baral said that the throat and nasal swabs sent to the National Public Health Laboratory for coronavirus test came back negative.
The laboratory had borrowed reagents for comprehensive tests of the virus from Kathmandu-based Centre for Molecular Dynamics Nepal.
As of yet, only one Nepali national had tested positive for coronavirus and the person has returned home after being cured, according to Mahendra Prasad Shrestha, spokesperson at the Ministry of Health.
The number of people infected with coronavirus reached almost 75,000 on Wednesday.
