A 45-year-old woman was found dead in a hotel room in Siraha Dhanusha Hotel and Lodge in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9, Bijay Chowk, on Saturday evening.
SSP Bhupendra Khatri of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, revealed that the woman’s body was found in a room that had remained locked for at least two days.
Initially presumed to be a case of an unpaid bill, the hotel owner, upon opening the door, found the deceased woman lying on the bed with a rope nearby.
SSP Khatri stated, “The circumstances under which the dead body was found, especially with the door locked from the outside, is suspicious.”
It was also disclosed that the woman had checked in with a man who provided false information to the hotel, and the deceased 45-year-old had previously faced legal action on charge of prostitution.
