A 22-year-old female staying in a quarantine facility at Purchodi Municipality-4 of Baitadi district died on today morning.

The female, along with her husband and 18-month-old child, had returned from India via Gauriphanta border point in Dhangadhi and reached the quarantine facility on May 29.

They were kept at a quarantine facility in Maalika Secondary School in Tana village, according to Mohan Prashad Joshi, Baitadi’s Chief District Officer.

The deceased was reportedly suffering from pre-existing medical complications.

She had been deprived of her medicines for the past 15 days because she did not have the money to buy them, informed the District Administration Office, Baitadi.

Preparations are underway to collect the swab sample of the deceased and send it to Dhangadhi for a PCR test.

Her body will be kept at Baitadi Hospital until the PCR test result comes back.
