The National Examinations Board at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, said that it would make public the results of this year’s Secondary Education Examination by August 9.

Preparation is underway to publish the result on the basis of internal evaluation of students by the respective schools within the stipulated time, said the Board’s Office of the Controller of Examinations Rudra Adhikari.

The Office had already received the grades of students whose evaluation was done internally by the school concerned on the basis of their academic performance in the classroom and exams.

Due to the growing risk of COVID-19 and prohibitory order imposed by the government to contain the pandemic, the government had decided to publish the result of the SEE on the basis of internal evaluation.

According to the Office, more than 517,000 students had completed the requisition forms for SEE for 2020. The results of the students who attended the SEE in 2019 were also made public last year on the basis of internal evaluation owing to the risk of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Education and Health Committee of the House of Representatives has advised the government to provide Grade XII students with anti-COVID jabs before they sit for the board exams slated to begin from August 15.

“Besides adopting all health safety protocols and providing doctors, nurses, as well as necessary medicines at the examination centers, infected students who are unable to sit for the exams should be given a second chance to attend it later,” Committee Chairperson Jayapuri Gharti said.

This year, as many as 450,000 students will sit for their Grade XII board exams at 4,334 examination centers (home centers) across the country.
