The cabinet meeting held on Monday evening decided to publish the results of Secondary Education Examination (SEE) through internal evaluation of respective schools as physical examination is not possible due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The Council of Ministers took the decision to this effect as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

All schools will be required to send the details of students’ internal assessment to the concerned District Education Development and Coordination Committees, get certified by the Education Development and Coordination Unit and then submit the final results to the National Examination Board (NEB) for publication.

On the basis of the received details, NEB will prepare the results and make them public.

Last year too, physical test of SEE was canceled keeping in mind the threat posed by COVID-19 and students were graded on the basis of internal evaluation. A three-member evaluation committee comprising principals, class teachers and experts had evaluated students on the basis of internal examination conducted by respective schools.

Earlier this year, the National Examination Board had written a letter to the Ministry of Education, seeking permission to conduct SSE examination through alternative methods.

Though this year’s SEE examination was scheduled for May 27, it had been postponed indefinitely citing the increase in coronavirus cases in the nation.
