Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has vowed to investigate the matter of alleged bribery of the party’s lawmaker Dhaka Kumar Shrestha and take action against him within 72 hours if found guilty.

Addressing a meeting held in Gadhimai, Bara, Lamichhane said, “We will conclude the investigation within net 70 hours and if found guilty, lawmaker Shrestha will be dismissed from his post.”

RSP Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar informed that the party has suspended lawmaker Shrestha until the investigation period, for his alleged involvement in bribery.

According to the leaked audio conversation between RSP lawmaker Shrestha and medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, Shrestha can be heard demanding Rs 2 crores as ‘support’.

Lawmaker Shrestha stated that RSP will receive health ministry portfolio and Shrestha can become Health Minister if he pays around 2 crores and requested the money from businessman Prasai to help ‘bring positive changes in the health sector’.

In the same conversation, lawmaker Shrestha claimed that some leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party demanded the amount to give him the office of the Ministry of Health and Population.

RSP Chair Lamichhane has further assured to find out who are the leaders of the party mentioned in the leaked conversation and take action against them.
