The government has decided to publicize Nepal as “coronavirus-free zone” in a bid to promote Visit Nepal 2020 campaign.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has informed that the publicity will be carried out through audio/visual contents in English, Chinese and Hindi languages. The ministry held an interaction yesterday to discuss the effects of coronavirus in Nepal’s tourism industry.
Following the interaction, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai gave instruction to prepare audio/visual contents with the message that says Nepal is a coronavirus-free zone and distribute the contents to international agencies.
The audio/visual promotional contents will be uploaded in the websites as well as social media platforms of Tourism Ministry, Nepali embassies, Nepal Tourism Board, Visit Nepal 2020 Secretariat and private firms working for tourism.
As per the decision, audio/visual contents stating Nepal’s solidarity with the northern neighbor China in view of the spread of coronavirus, China’s efforts to curb the virus and Nepal’s preparedness to welcome Chinese tourists will also be created.
Minister Bhattarai has instructed to prepare and distribute such promotional content through Chinese media as well as the Nepali Embassy in China within seven days.
