A meeting of District Administration Offices (DAOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur held on Wednesday has decided to extend the existing prohibitory orders to 10 more days till June 14.
The chief district officers of the three districts in the Valley have, however, shown some leniency towards grocery shops and department stores this time around.
Grocery store and department stores (grocery only) have been allowed to open till 9:00 am along with fruit shops, dairy and meat shops.
Meanwhile, the local bodies have also allowed to resume infrastructure development work in the Valley. Vehicles carrying construction material can ply the road from 9:00 pm till 4:00 am.
Similarly, vehicle workshops are allowed to open till 9:00 am.
Earlier, the DAOs had decided to shut all grocery shop and departmental stores during a week-long strict prohibitory orders. This move was hugely criticised by the public.
