Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been assigned the responsibility of additional two ministries after the resignation of ministers from Rastriya Swatantra Party following the decision of the party to quit the government on Sunday.

The Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Shishir Khanal; Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Dol Prasad Aryal; and State Minister for Health and Population, Toshima Karki; had submitted their resignations before the Prime Minister on Sunday evening.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, PM Dahal will look after Ministry of Education, Science and Technology as well as Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security for the time being.

PM Dahal has already taken charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs after former minister Rabi Lamichhane had to leave his position due to the verdict of the Supreme Court on the citizenship case.

However, the portfolio of State Minister for Health and Population has not been decided yet.

PM Dahal has claimed that he is in favour of preserving the unity among the political parties in power and will resolve any difficulties, that may arise in future with RSP, through discussion.
