With an alarming surge in cases of coronavirus infection in the district, Nuwakot has heavily cut down people’s mobility and public service delivery in all local levels.

In a meeting held on Thursday, Crisis Management Centre of the district decided to ban the operation of public vehicles in the district until further notice and also to completely stop vehicles from entering into the district, except for those carrying essential goods.

The Chief District Officer, Jhanka Nath Dhakal, informed the Centre had also decided to ban entrance of all types of vehicles except ambulances into the district from 8 pm to 6 am.

The Centre also decided to shut down all hotels except the ones arranged for quarantine, tea shops, lodge and restaurants, gathering in temples, fair and conference until further notice.

The meeting also directed local schools to adopt alternative teaching-learning methods.

Dhakal informed that the Centre also decided that all government, private and non-government offices within the district will close all services except most essential ones as per ‘the service operation and management process and service delivery guideline’ from August 9 until another notice.
