With the change in the ruling coalition and the CPN-UML party out of the government, new Chief Ministers were appointed in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, replacing the leaders of the CPN-UML party.

Surendra Raj Pandey of the Nepali Congress has been appointed the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province.

Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary has been appointed the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province.

CM Pandey replaced Khagaraj Adhikari of CPN-UML in Gandaki Province and CM Chaudhary replaced Lila Giri of CPN-UML in Lumbini Province after the two former CMs failed to secure a majority during the vote of confidence.

Both Pandey and Chaudhary took the oath of office and secrecy on Friday.
