The Curriculum Development Center under the Ministry of Education has informed that this year’s grade XI exam will be cancelled and has asked the National Examination Board to evaluate students through internal assessment.

The National Examination Board has been entrusted with the responsibility to formulate a work procedure on conducting students’ internal assessment.

Information Officer at the Curriculum Development Center, Ganesh Prasad Bhattarai, informed that the decision to cancel the examination was made keeping in mind the spread and risks of coronavirus infection.

Bhattarai said that schools would evaluate students once the Examination Board formulates the working procedure.

“The decision to cancel grade XI exam is only applicable for this academic session,” Bhattarai said adding, “Decision regarding exams of next session will be made later.”

Meanwhile, no decision regarding the board exam of grade XII has been taken yet.

The Ministry of Education has been saying that the grade XII board examination will be conducted at a convenient time as it is the last class of secondary level education.

For the publication of SEE results, works towards collection of marks obtained by students in their internal assessment is currently underway.

The National Examination Board has targeted to make the results public by July 30 after receiving the marks from across the country by mid-July.
