On Wednesday evening, a four-point accord was achieved between the activist known as Iih, who had been engaged in a peaceful protest for the past nine days, and the head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra (Balen) Shah.

Following the agreement, the protest has also been temporarily halted. The pact was formally endorsed by Chinikaji Maharjan and Dheeraj Joshi, representing the metropolitan authorities.

Despite an attempt to negotiate on Tuesday, no consensus could be reached at the eleventh hour. On Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Shah communicated with activist Iih via social media, emphasizing that he lacks the authority to meet the presented demands.

He reiterated his stance that conducting business on the streets should be discouraged, and people should be allowed the right of way.
