The object, which was allegedly described as a “pressure cooker bomb,” has been discovered to be a hoax.
According to the army officer involved in the diffusion, the pressure cooker did not contain a bomb or any other component. A pressure cooker with “No MCC” written on it was found on the main road of New Baneshwor this morning.
The suspected pressure cooker has been defused by the Nepal Army Bomb Disposal Team. With the deactivation, the road has been reopened.
As per the locals, the object was set out by two people who came on a motorbike this morning.
Likewise, a similar suspicious object was also found earlier in the day in Banepa, which was disposed by Nepal Army personnel.
