Police crack down on loan sharking victims (Photo Feature)

Police intervened in a protest by loan shark victims at Ratna Park of Kathmandu on Monday, ensuing clash between them.

17 people, eight police officers and nine protesters, were injured after police used batons and water cannons while 35 protesters were detained.

The group of protesters was trying to head towards Singha Durbar, the federal government secretariat, and the clash broke out when the police stopped them.

Although government officials and the representatives of loan-shark victims have already signed a five-point agreement, another group is still staging protests stating the agreement is not solve their problems.
