Floods and landslide cases have caused multiple casualties and damaged bridges and roads. Monsoon-related disasters have been on the rise. The Hewakhola bridge in Panchthar was completely destroyed this past weekend, as well as several were reported missing in separate flood and landslide events across the country.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), over a million people will face the consequences of monsoon-related catastrophes this year.

They have announced that an ‘Integrated Monsoon Preparedness and Response Action Plan’ will be prepared by mentioning the actions to be taken by the relevant agencies to reduce the loss of human resources due to this year’s monsoon disaster.
