Night clubs in Kathmandu will now be allowed to operate till 4 pm. The District Security Committee meeting led by Kathmandu Chief District Officer, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, fixed the time for conducting various nighttime businesses in Kathmandu on Thursday.

According to the decision, the liquor shops (selling sealed bottled alcohol) will be allowed to open till 10 pm. Similarly, restaurants can operate till 12 am midnight.

Meanwhile, dance bars, dohori clubs, lounges and bars can operate till 2 am, according to District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu.

The administration office said that the time has been determined to make the business activities conducted at night time in the Kathmandu district more safe, dignified and managed.

Earlier on March 2022, after decrease in COVID-19 cases, Ministry of Home Affairs had decided to let nightlife businesses including bars and clubs run for the whole night, lifting all kinds of time restrictions so far imposed on the operation of hotels, restaurants, dance clubs and bars.
