A road accident took place at Ichhakamana Rural Municipality, Chitwan today in which a German national lost his life.
60-year-old Michael Meyer-Olbersleben, the German national who was riding a motorcycle to head Kathmandu from Narayangadh, died after being hit by a jeep at Phisling at around 10:15 am on Thursday.
According to DSP Bijay Raj Pandit of Chitwan District Police Office, Meyer-Olbersleben was rushed to Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur for treatment where he was pronounced dead around 12:30 pm.
The pillion, a female foreign national, and jeep passenger 73-year-old Nir Bahadur Tamang of Galchi, Dhading were also injured in the accident.
Both of them are receiving medical treatment at Chitwan Medical College and are in stable condition.
The jeep, involved in the accident, was en route to Mugling from Dhading when the accident occurred.
The jeep driver, 21-year-old Sajan Bhujel of Gorkha, has been arrested by the police and further investigation is going on regarding the incident.
