An arrest warrant has been issued against singer Aastha Raut on the charge of ‘indecent behavior’ against a police officer at the domestic terminal of the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu last week.

After her scuffle with the police officer, Raut had upload a video on her Facebook account claiming that she was harassed and ill-treated by the on-duty officer.

Her video became viral on social media platforms soon after. She had also condemned Nepal Police for the misbehavior. Raut, in her video, had also called for detailed investigation into the incident.

Following the uproar, the on-duty police officer, Ramita Shrestha, on Friday filed a complaint and provided the CCTV footage of the incident to the police. The CCTV footage shows Raut quite reluctant to take off her jacket during security check when the police officer asks her to do so.

The footage also shows Raut being uncooperative while being checked. Based on the complaint filed by Shrestha and the investigation report submitted by police, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu has given permission for Raut’s arrest.

Raut has been accused of misbehaving with the police officer while she was on duty at the domestic terminal of the TIA on Wednesday, according to the spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu DSP Hobindra Bogati.
