Attending a virtual event on Sunday morning on the occasion of World Yoga Day, Prime Minister KP Oli expressed his dissatisfaction that some intellectuals had made fun of ancestral knowledge.
“I had talked about it in terms of increasing the immune capacity of our body, but some intellectuals made fun of it, fun of turmeric, fenugreek, pepper and ginger,” he said.
PM Oli urged everyone to take his request to use spices to boost the immunity of the body seriously as these spices have been proved to carry medicinal qualities.
At the virtual event, PM Oli also announced the National Yoga Curriculum (Protocol) booklet published by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The Art of Living-Nepal among other organizations are hosting programs and activities through social media platforms to mark the day owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21 since 2015 following its inception at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.
