CPN-UML celebrated victories in the recent by-elections for Ilam-2 and Bajhang 1 constituencies. In Ilam-2, Suhang Nemwang, representing CPN-UML, clinched the win with 27,772 votes, outperforming his nearest rival, Dambar Bahadur Khadka of Nepali Congress, who received 21,942 votes. Suhang expressed gratitude to the people of Ilam and his party for their unwavering support.

The Ilam-2 seat became vacant following the passing of former Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang, prompting a by-election on March 11.

Meanwhile, in Bajhang 1, Daman Bahadur Bhandari secured victory for CPN-UML with 11,613 votes, narrowly defeating Abhishek Bahadur Singh of Nepali Congress by a slim margin of 267 votes. The by-election was called after the death of state assembly member Prithvi Bahadur Singh in a road accident. This win marked a turnaround for CPN-UML, overturning their previous defeat in Bajhang 1 during the 2079 election.
