Members of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) Central Committee have called for an inquiry into the assets of party leaders. This demand was made during the fourth extended meeting of the party’s Central Committee, held on Wednesday. The leaders argued that such an investigation is crucial to demonstrate the party’s commitment to combat corruption in the country.

Several Central Committee members of the Maoist party urged for a thorough investigation into the assets of the top party leaders. Among the 385 central members present at the meeting, around 40 shared their views. The majority stressed the importance of the party leadership adopting a stringent stance against corruption and called for an inquiry into the assets of all leaders.

The committee members highlighted the necessity to scrutinize the assets of leaders who have held significant public positions, including government roles, as they are perceived as potential drivers of corruption.

Prime Minister Dahal reaffirmed the ongoing anti-corruption campaign, and the Central Committee members have also insisted on initiating a purification campaign within the party.
