Kathmandu, September 6

The Election Commission Nepal has fixed 10,888 polling stations across the country for the elections to be held on November 4. The number is 132 more than in the previous election which was 10,756 polling stations.

During the review of the polling stations across the country, a total of 1,123 polling stations have been changed, 401 polling stations were removed and new polling stations were added. According to EC, the voters from the removed polling stations have all been transferred to new polling stations.

The District Polling Station and Polling Centre Recommendation Committee took into account the density of voters, facilities, utilities, infrastructures, geographical conditions and security conditions for effective voting management effective and ease of access for the voters.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission Surya Prasad Aryal said the revision also took into account the complaints of having to travel long distances and need to take shelter.
